Bird Is the Word

Our new challenge word for February 12 is HEART! Tis the season for Valentine's Day afterall and there are truly red hearts, pink hearts and purple hearts or any coloured hearts!

Purple Pumpkin

I have been waiting to scrap these photos of Emma cooking at nan's house for a while now. So i finally found some pp that tied in with my Scrapmatts chipboard and of course my Purple Pumpkin buttons and twine.

And i couldn't resist taking some close ups of the gorgeous buttons:

Life hasn't decided to slow down for me yet...

We have had a hectic schedule hence why this post is long overdue.

In between swimming carnivals and club nights, dad having a heartattack,town band,Australia Day and getting the girls ready for school especially kayley going into high school this year...eak!!I don't know where i have fitted my scrapping in to be honest..LOL..

Aust Day

The girls played in the town band while Bridget had her face painted..

Later we went to the pool to relax..

Kayley has decided to start shaving early...no only kidding! The girls went over to a friends house and decided that shaving cream and water fights were the best way to beat the heat...

And i did not cry. My eldest went to high school...bought back so many memories of me going and kayley has even got a couple of teachers that taught me!!!

This is my fav shot...i told her to give mum a wave goodbye..
It was pooring down rain and we told the girls we would drive them down the road so they wouldn't get wet...no they were to cool for this!!

Now for the scrapping part. I told you it was going to be long...LOL.

We have had some new additions to our already fantastic DT and lots of new challenges planned for the year ahead.

February's Challenge

How to Play:

As February is the month of love, Cathy Cafun decided to have a word challenge. Use the word "LOVE" anywhere on your LO, card, ATC or OTP. The word can be in your title, journaling or on an embellishment. You don't have to create a romantic page, as you could use the word to convey something you love to do, to eat, to wear... the ideas are endless!!

I also have 2 other criteria for this challenge which are:

1. Have a heart (can be more than 1) somewhere on your project

2. To use some paint on your creation also.

To be eligible to win the prize, your creation MUST also have Scrapmatts on it.
Members need to upload their entry into the gallery by the end of the month and call it 'February Challenge'.

Kraft It Up

This month is the month of LOVE, dont get scared and think this challenge is just about husband/wife, boyfriend/girlfriend love, I am opening this challenge up to LOVE in general.
HOWEVER I do want to see PINK on your layout somewhere and of coure your layouts must be created on Kraft CS or Kraft PP.

I am now on the Shop and Crop design team. I have always loved this site and i get monthly kits delivered to me for years. Kylie Tout was who inspired me way back then, so that made me want to try out too. The owner who is also Kylie asked me to design this months Cropoholics Kit. My head began to spin. Just the thought of designing for Shop and Crop but actually seeing my work up on their website....wow!!!

I loved the pattern papers which Amy sent in my DT pack from Scrapbooking Haven. After creating numerous layouts, i decided to have a go at an OTP project- and you know what...it was alot of fun !!!

So next time you go to throw out your empty spagetti tin - think twice and have a little try at an OTP project. They are simple and quick to make.

Well i went to my dear friend - Kim Kendell - to complete a class which is totally not me!! But i loved it thanks Kim. Its great to try different techniques and learn how to do them.

We had alot of fun using mists, masks and glams. I did add an extra touch to my brand new top as well. Luckily it was gold and added a bit of sparkle or you could say highlighted part of my top...LOL...

Is it really summer???

To pick a hot day this year has been hard to say the least. But when it was warm on this particular day, i made the most of the photo opportunity's. Emma just loves to play around the most out of my 3 girls. So i can capture the most fun & play pics of her all the time.

KUI Tryout...

Before the new year, i put my hand up to try out for the Kraft It Up CT. And what would you know - i was successful....

It was a big surprise for me as i have loved this scrapping site since the moments i laid eyes on it...LOL

So our task was to base a layout on a sketch which was supplied by Page Maps.

This layout i created for this months Scrapjacked Challenge. Basically i just used up scraps which were lying around on my desk. I love to do this often as then i don't have to pack it away...LOL...

And a close up of the owl button by Purple Pumpkin which was the perfect colour to match my layout and the Scrapmatts chipboard branches which are great to stick in a cluster with other embellishments.

Like my title....

Well i didn't want you all to pass out with the shock of my post. Yes it has been a month since scrapping a post about Scrapmatts - and a busy one at that with Xmas in between.

But also i wanted you to sit down so you won't pass out with the shock of seeing my cards...

Yes you did read right...i made cards. When the DT decided on concentrating on cards this month...well you could just image my response! What the...

But if i can do a card....anyone can!!!

I seriously mean that...

I decided to stick to a Beachy theme for my set of cards. I love kraft and feel that this cs is perfectly suited for this theme.

Bring It On.....

WARNING: Many pics-long post.

Well 2012 has arrived...

I am hoping for a less stressful year. Is that possible???Can i ask for this to happen.....hope so.

We decided to head up in the mountains yesterday to get out of the heat. It worked until the walking part through the bush and heading back to tumut after luch! The place we visited is Yarrangabilly Caves.

First we headed down to the thermal pool-that was the easy part !!

Then we did the bush walk around to the cave- 1.5km. You can understand why my calves on the back of my legs are so sore today!! I'm not moving very far today-LOL

Hubby asked if i took photos going through the rock formations. I wanted to tell him what i thought but the kids were in ear shot! I was flat out watching the track let alone taking photos..

Finally we arrived at the caves...

By the end of the caves, hubby offered to take my backpack cause i was well and truely stuffed!!

Our next trip to this destination - the girls will be capable of swimming by themselves and i will wait up at the top picnic ground and have lunch organised while reading a scrapping mag..LOL...

Now to finally catch up on some scrapping news. Luckily most of these scrapping shares i did before the end of last month cause i haven't had time to scrap lately.

Exciting News X 2

Where are the days going?

Where are the weeks going?

Before we know it the kids are going to be back at school, sporting resumes and so does mum's taxi service again....LOL...

After finishing work yesterday, we decided to go up to the dam in the boat and give the girls a swim and play for the afternoon. I captured some pics on my phone of the girls enjoying a Xmas present from Andrew and i.

My first lot of news to share is that i have made the DT for Scrapbooking Haven along with the following scrappers:

I'm so looking forward to this new adventure and i am also looking forward to creating with monthly kits again. I find it really gets my mind ticking....LOL..

Christmas has been and gone, but it was an emotional one for me.I seen my grandmother on Xmas day for the first time in over 15 years. And my daughters now know they have a great grandmother as well...you can just imagine my face....i had happy tears rolling down my face all day.

I have been accepted on the Creative Team for Kraft It Up
. Our term begins in February and i am so looking forward to creating some amazing layouts. I have always participated in the many challenges since this site has been going...i so love to use Kraft !!!Beth Jarrett and Di garling will be joining me along with the already existing CT.

So all is good for the end of 2011... and i say bring on 2012 !!

My three are getting so excited....

Its only 3 more sleeps until Santa comes with all the presents !! Mind you i am still wrapping presents. Normally i am done and dusted by now - bit slow this year..LOL..usually ALL organised!!

Well i don't think i have completed so many xmas projects in one year before...unbelievable...i don't normally scrap alot of xmas photos...but it has felt good this year.

These buttons i got in my DT pack from Purple Pumpkin are gorgeous and so easy to pop into the middle of a flower as an embellishment.

Well i hope all EVERYONE has a wonderful Xmas and safe one too if you are travelling to see love ones xxx

Things are sort of slowing down a bit..girls are actually still in bed...and its 8:30 !!! Wonders will never cease....LOL...

Just got to go shopping for those last minute gifts and wrap the final presents up and pop under the wonky Xmas tree...yes...i still haven't popped it up straight...i think it has alot of character now!!!LOL

I spotted a post by Wendy Smith on her blog about a cork board gift for the teachers from the children. What a cool idea...

So i went and found some small cork boards at Office Works and some pins - went home and raided my scraps pile - and well-you can see the end result...

A Very Merry Christmas....

I did not think i was going to get here today or any day for that matter....LOL...

You can certainly tell its Christmas time but with school ending as well, does not help the cause...its go,go,go...

I have decided to enter my layout for the White with 1 December Challenge. This month you had the following criteria:

Kayley's Yr 6 Formal Night...

Well i didn't cry....

Its such a shock when you know your first daughter is going into High School next year. And when they want this dress only, this hair style,these pair of shoes and makeup.....you know your little girl has grown up....

We had a most enjoyable night and i think Kayley had a great night with her school buddies. The teachers organised a power point presentation of all the students in Yr 6 and there were some great photos of the early years. The class then sang a goodbye song which nearly broke the dry eyes....

So i have some photos to show of our wonderful night....
Andrew and i decided to buy a necklace for Kayley on her special night.

And she had to wear the shorts underneath!

Really busy busy busy...

The girls had their presentation day yesterday and did really well...Bridget especially.

Bridget received a special award for an encouragement in her class.

And both Emma and Kayley played their instruments in the school band.

Emma and Bridget also had presentation for Gym this week as well but i can't seem to get the video to work.If anyone knows how i can copy onto blogger -it would be greatly appreciated.

Well this Xmas we are really lucky to have a baby in the house. My brother and his wife have been trying for quiet some time to start a family - finally they succeeded and Alexa was born last month on the 14th Nov.

It feels great to go shopping for a new baby(and i can handle girl things i think!!!LOL) and i can get clucky and spoil and give back to mum and dad.

So this is a pic of Alexa just a couple of weeks old. My kids are glad for an extra edition to the family cause that means not as many photos of them instead now..LOL...

I guess at this TIME of the year we need more time to be organised with presents, food, parties and end of year school celebrations. I did myself a favour and bought a big white board to make up a calender and white down with markers - "what is going on". Well i can tell you there is not an empty day space on that board for dec. The girls are also just into swimming season and now until march we have carnivals galore!

So the new word at Bird Is The Word is quiet relevant to me...

DT Call for The Paper Variety

Special Announcement :)

Hello crafty friends!

As we approach 2012, Abby and Suzanne have decided to make a few new and exciting changes to The Paper Variety! Beginning in January, the TPV blog face will receive a makeover and we'll also be including tutorials (photo & video) for our readers :) There are a few other improvements in the making, but you'll have to join us in January to see them :)

With these new changes, we're also seeking creative crafters who would like to join our Design Team!

We're looking for 8 designers to share their love of paper crafting and inspiring others - artists of all styles and experience levels. If you love paper and enjoy using it to create a variety of projects, then we hope to hear from you!

Here are some DT requirements:
•Be able to create a variety of paper projects including layouts, cards, mini-albums, altered items, banners, decorative pieces, gift bags etc.
•Submit a project every 2 weeks which follows the scheduled challenges
•Once a month, submit a tutorial (photo or video) with detailed recipe and instruction of your project.
•Have a blog and link our design team blinky on your side bar
•Post current TPV challenges and your projects on your blog, linking TPV and sharing sponsor information
•Be aware of project due dates and be able to meet them
•Use mostly current products on your projects
•Comment on participant entries
•Commit to a 6 month term beginning January 4th
Presently there is no compensation for your DT commitment. However, Abby and Suzanne do send small gifts of thanks and appreciation to each team member. Also, sponsors may provide product for our designers on occasion.

Applications will be accepted until December 16th midnight. The announcement of the new team will be posted on December 21st and each designer will be introduced daily following the announcement. :)

•Your full name and an introduction of yourself.
•Your blog address
•Links to your online galleries.
•Current/Previous DT experience (not required)

Little Sister...

Don't you hate it when siblings most of the time fight amoungst themselves and then make up about 20 min later...

Well that is exactly what my 3 girls do all the time!!!

So capturing this photo, was one of those times when they were friendly towards each other and not dobbing one another in to mum or dad!

I have based my layout on the latest sketch at Handmade by Suzanne
.

The felt buttons and crochet doileys were perfect for my page - gave the look of softness along with the girlie colours.

The twine is so good for making banners which is all the rage at the moment in scrapbooking.

I have used embellishments from Purple Pumpkin and Scrapmatts packed with colours that i could use on my layouts for lots and lots of girly type pages.

I have used the giant polka dot button and a smaller one side by side with a crochet doiley which i have cut in half - they go a long way when you do this to them for your pages.

So i hope you got a bargain at the sale and i hope they included the funky buttons and doiley which i have used on my layout. If you missed out, pop on over - there may be some left over.....

A BIG Day....

Yesterday morning, hubby got up for work at 5:45 and another "little"person decided to join him...LOL....

Bridget celebrated her 7th Birthday and she was really excited...we gave Bridget her presents on Tues night so that Dad would be able to see her umwrap her surprises...unknown to us she could of did this on the morning of her birthday with her Dad watching....LOL...

A walking horse with Dora proved to be the best present....everything else did not matter....why do we buy so much, that is what i ask myself....but she did have a wonderful birthday and got spoiled heaps...

A Bit of A Catch Up...

We had a great family weekend. Kayley and Emma played in the town band for the Anglican Fete and the Relay For Life. What a day. It was so hot...and they had to wear jeans!! I worked on Sat - i even snuck into the loungeroom on the lounge for a shut eye- funny how i only got 20min and next it was "mum, kayley did this". Andrews mum was completing the Relay for Life. So we decided to go down after tea and complete a few laps of the footy ground with her group. I ended up doing 7 laps.

Yesterday was spent at home with lots of people stopping by our place for various things. The girls loved going on the slip and slide all day. I decided to start cleaning out clothes cupboards which i am about to go and finish. I was rudely interupted by that bottle of wine!LOL...

So i better catch up on a few challenges....

Our new challenge word is ADORE! The word ADORE should be adaptable (I think) in many different ways. Your pages could feature your children, grandparents, parents...even your animals/pets.

Time flies.....when you are totally busy.....

I can honestly say that is what happened for Oct...I think my head is still spinning from all the things i had to think about....

And.....

I can honestly say that Nov is going to be no different... I have 2 dautghters whom celebrate their 7th and 10th Birthdays and we are expecting a new little one into our family in the next week or so...we can't wait to spoil and cuddle them heaps( and we get tohand the baby back and not keep!!!)...xxx...we just have to remind Bridget that it won't be a DOLL but a living person...LOL...

The girls will be busy....

Kayley has been going to the High School for Orientation which has been a real eye opener for her...Swimming will be busy for Kayley as well but she is already going ahead in leaps and bounds....she hates her parents for making her do swimming but it is great for her fitness.

Emma is "getting" there....along with her mum and dad...LOl...
We have been having highs and lows with the diabetes...its just the sporting side we have to work out....she never stops...
Emma is going in the SCHOOL Talent Quest today...Em is our little Drama Queen in our family.

Bridget...well...she never stops talking and testing my patience...
Horse riding is Bridgets fav thing at the moment...loves...loves ..loves it..Puzzles even got dressed up as a girl even though he is a boy! Bridget thought that he needed a bit of bling, so she added a tiarra and some hair clips so he would look pretty...much to Puzzles disgrace - he tried shaking it off his head...you just had to be there and seeing Bridget tell him he had to wear it!

Well i suppose i better show some layouts which i completed ages ago last month for this month....

A New Life...

Any day now, we are expecting a new little one to be delivered into this beautiful world. This will be my brothers and his wife first baby. Our family is excited and we are all hoping for a little boy - but another pretty one would add to the growing number of girls....LOL...

For this layout, i went for softer colours, so the crochet doileys were a perfect choice of embellishment to add to my layout from Purple Pumpkin along with the spotty buttons and twine.

Team Spirit...

This year was Emma's second year at playing touch football for the school. And you could tell - at least she could catch the football! Emma's friends decided to get a team photo but of course there weren't any serious one's
- all muck around...LOL..This year Emma must of stood out from the rest of her team as she was named best and fairest for her school. Emma was over the moon with excitment when she received a bag of footy things and couldn't wait to show the rest of her team mates.

I have based my layout on a Scrapjack by Mel.

I have used a great range of Purple Pumpkin products on this layout. You will see the big spotty buttons of course, the crochet doileys which i absolutely love, a lollipop star made from fabric which is great and adds texture to the layout.

My second cluster of embellishments shows the bakers twine, doiley, large spotty button and some tickets. These come in many colours , so they are ideal for all styles of scrapbooking.

Sizzling Hot....

I feel that already we are going to have a HOT summer. And my favourite holiday spot to be while the weather is warm, is on a beach and to be swimming in the surf. My three girls love when we go away because they know that hubby and i choose a place either up or down the coast from where we live. So on our last holiday, we visited Forster and i took over 300 photos on our holiday. Because of this, i have heaps of beachy photos to scrap.

I have completed this layout based on the Scrap the Girls Challenge.

Create a layout with the word ‘love’ in the title and to use ‘distressing’ on your layout.

I find that the spotty buttons from Purple Pumpkin go with absolutely EVERYTHING. As you can see in my close up, i have scrunched up my pp and inked to give it a distressed look.

And the crochet doiley are just gorgeous and so bright which yes, you could guess, were a great embellishment for my layout.

And i couldn't resist a cluster of embellishments which resembled and complimented the beach...and i also loved adding a bit of paint with also gives a distressed look to a layout.

So i hope you enjoyed todays upload and that it made you ALL happy and bright on such a gorgeous day...

Each month for 3 months beginning Sept. 17 we will provide a sketch (designed by Kim Keane) for you to create a LO. This means you will get a different Sketch in Sept., Oct., and Nov. to create a LO. There will be a different blog post for each month to load your LOs for judging. There will be 3 winners and 3 prizes each month. The first winner will be judged and chosen by the Design Team and then Pam will draw 2 random names for a prize... yes, each month. We ask that you only have one entry per month or per sketch. Everyone that creates a LOs with all 3 sketches will be eligible for another PRIZE...yes...even another PRIZE......the "GRAND" Prize....and the winner for this will be randomly drawn. BUT to qualify for the Grand prize, you must upload all 3 of your LOs on Your Blog or in the MCS contest gallery and link them here in the Link attachment on the MCS blog. Yes, the Grand Prize will be a random draw so it's any one's game at this point. Well i am back to normal life....at least i think i am at the moment...

Emma and i eventually got out of hospital after our stay for a week. Emma is handling the change really well( unlike her mother!) It just scares me...
But her levels have been up and down, and it is just a matter of sorting the insulin and her daily routine out! Things will then change when she goes back to school and starts back on her busy sporting schedule...

I have Kayley going into hospital on Wed to remove a lump on her lip...hoping all goes well with her on this day as well...

I can honestly say that these holidays haven't been boring!LOL...

Well i have alot to catch up on Scrapping wise...

I apologise to all my scrapping DT committments for not being able to advertise all the challenges.Now i hope i don't forget any...LOL..

Just thought I would all let you know why I have been a bit quiet and might be for a week or so. Emma and I are staying at the Wagga Base Hospital at the moment. She was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. It has been a shock to our whole family. Emma is coping ok with everything. More so than her mother I think! But it is just mean some re-adjusting with our lives. So if I haven't posted any new challenges for my DT commitments , then you now know why.

A BIG BIG BIG Week.....

Calling last week a BIG week is an understatement!!! It was HUGE....

The girls had their school performance for 3 days which amounted to costumes, makeup and hairstyling by parents at the school. So i went in to give a hand each day when i could in between working too...

Then on Friday night my mum celebrated her 60th Birthday which i organised a dinner with family and a couple of friends....

Mum loved her night and how we decorated everything in Parramatta colours...

Then on Saturday we travelled to Wagga for Bridget to compete in the Mounted Games. This was Bridgets first year. She was soooo excited!!!!
For this special event, i had a dear friend make some riding pants for Bridget to wear.

They had to be HOT PINK of course!!!

When we finished, it was time to jump in the car and head back to Tumut as i had a Wedding to attend. Hubby was best man - and scrubbed up pretty well!!

So yesterday, i had a family BBQ and tried to lay day for a nanna nap BUT 3 girls stopped me!!

So busy is an understatement, right!

SEPTEMBER CHALLENGE

So the challenge this month is to use CLIPS...paperclips, bulldog clips, and clips...

I haven't had alot of "ME" scrapping time but i decided to change this for September...it would be nice to do this every month..LOL...

Welcome to Day 2 of our blog celebration! :) We hope you're having as much fun as we are bringing you challenges, a blog hop, a giveaway on our facebook page and many ways to win lots of goodies!

Before we get to today's challenge, let's recap..

Our first challenge posted yesterday is to use stamps. Clear stamps, digistamps, images, sentiments.. whatever stamps you got.. We want to see them. We will be hosting 5 challenges total. Today is the 2nd challenge. The 3rd through 5th will be announced tomorrow through Sunday. All challenge entries are due Tuesday at noon. All 5 challenge winners and blog hop candy winners will be announced Tuesday.

Our Spotlight Night has been moved from Sunday to Monday. On Monday we will feature several projects, choosing a few entries from each challenge :)

This week is all about our "favorites" and I'm sure everyone has a favorite paper crafting company! Today's challenge is...

Important note: Your project should be made mostly with product from your favorite paper crafting company. We want your chosen company to be clearly seen and heavily used on your project.. at least 70% their product. Create a project that your favorite company would want to use in their galleries :)

Welcome to The Paper Variety's one year anniversary celebration! This week it's all about our "favorite things"! TPV is hosting 5 daily challenges of our favorite things and awarding 5 great prizes to 5 lucky random winners. We hope you'll play along with us each day!!

The Digi Stamp was great to work with on a card. I used watercolour pencils and loved how the cupcake had so many layers hence the amount of colours i used on the design.

Well i do believe Spring is in the air with all flowers blooming and thunderstorms starting....

Not great weather for those asthma sufferers....certainly feel for those people....

But for those of us that do not, i love getting up close and personal with the fauna and flaura during Springtime...

I had alot of fun creating my creations for this months upload. I hope you enjoy and find some inspiration from my layouts.

Bird Is the Word

It is September 1st....fall is in the air for me and I know Spring is in the air for many of you. I LOVE summer and am always sad to see it go. Winters in Minnesota are brutally long, dark and cold - so for me - the last days of summer can hang on tight.

Well, with the change of seasons, we are looking for six new design team members at Bird is the Word! Many of the existing members are hanging around (yeah!) but a few had to leave due to time constraints and other things. We are excited for new faces and new creations! As mentioned earlier this week...five new members will be chosen as traditional DT members and one new member will be chosen as a "sketch designer".

So, here are the details.....we are pretty low key around here.

1. Words are provided ahead of the official post on the BITW blog. Our design team creates a layout or project prior to the official posting date.
2. Two layouts using the provided word are required each month.
3. You have a blog you can post your projects on after they are revealed every other Sunday.
4. Besides creating two projects, your time is required for voting on the winning layouts and also for commenting on submitted layouts from challenge participants.
5. If you are interested in being a sketch designer, your sketches would be your DT submission, but you would be able to create an actual layout if you wanted to. Your sketches would be posted at the same time as the other layouts when they are revealed. However, many times the DT likes to use the sketch for their layouts, so the sketches would be needed ahead of time for the DT use.

That is about all I can think of for now. You will be on the DT for six months with the option of staying longer if you wish!!

If you are interested in being on the DT, please email me at birdteam2011@yahoo.com. When emailing me please include your blog address so that I can view your previous work. Also, please let me know if you are interested in the sketch position. Prior experience is not required for this position, but I would like to see a couple of sketches, so please attach those to your email.

The deadline for the DT call will be September 15th.

Scrapmatts September Scraplift Challenge

Accepted and even encouraged throughout scrap booking communities, scrap lifting is the act of borrowing, or lifting, ideas and designs from somebody else's already created layout to use on your personal pages. As long as you're not submitting the layout for publication, claiming it as your own and accepting payment for it, it's okay to scrap lift for personal use. Common courtesy dictates that if you submit the page into an online member's gallery, that you give credit to the original artist and explicitly state that your page is a scrap lift of theirs. Many artists feel flattered when another scrapper duplicates their pages. Imitation is, after all, the highest form of flattery. Individual scrapbookers are part of a larger community that is always happy to provide inspiration and encouragement.

Believe it or not, it is also possible to scrap lift yourself. As you grow and learn more about the art of scrap booking you will inevitably begin to develop your personal style as well as discover new tips and tricks along the way. Look back at layouts you made a year ago and consider what you would do differently now to improve them. Using those new ideas, create a brand new page with more up to date photos.

So our September Challenge is to Scraplift a layout/card or OTP from the members gallery.

Where Do I Start????

LONG POST.....

Well i have just got back from my Scrapping Retreat at Britannahlee Stamp & Scrap. I met so many nice people and the venue was great. I just loved all the Home style cooked meals...beautiful....thanks Faye.

My class was great and i think and hope the girls enjoyed my class even though they first thought it was going to be hard!LOL

I managed to scrap 11 layouts and 7 cards....Yes...you did read right...i scrapped cards....AMAZING....LOL

One class i did which was taught by Kim Kendall
.I thought this was a beautiful layout but so not my sytle. so it was fun to do.

Bird Is The Word

Our new challenge word for Sunday, August 28th is MEMORY (or a variation of the word, such as memories). Your challenge is to use this word in a title or as journaling on your page. Its been a while since my last post sooooo.....

WARNING

Loooooonnnnngggggg post......LOL

We decided to have a fun family day last Sunday by taking a 1 hr drive to the snow. We had a great time and surprise surprise the girls lasted longer before they winged that they were cold and wet!!!!!

We always make a trip to the snow each year if we can and this year was one of the best....maybe cause the girls have grown up.

On Monday , Emma had to travel to Gundagai to play touch football for her school. They had a great day....pitty the parent didn't!!! It rained on and off the whole day. By the end i was sick of putting the umbrella up and down ....LOL. Emma got Best & Fairest for the Franklin girls team. Here are some action shots...

And last night we had the pleasure of "BERTIE " Bear sleep over from school. Bridget absolutely loved having him and he did go everywhere with her. Nan even gave him a knitted beanie to keep warm.

So ....

Now you probably think i don't have a life...LOL....but somehow i manage to squeeze some scrapping in between all the family going on's....

Loved One's....

This month at Scrapmatts we are celebrating the special men/boys in our lives. I don't get many photo's of Andrew- camera shy unlike my children..LOL

So when Sofie & Andrew sent a Plaque for me, i wanted to make something special for my Andrew which showed his special 3 girls- so this plaque was perfect- 3 spaces for 3 girls.

I have used a Hambly Border sticker which i cut up and placed around the edge of the centre frame. I wanted to make it as masculan as i could, so i used a leather strap which i attached with screws and placed 3 hooks along the bottom for Andrew to hang his keys . The metal words i have had in my stash from when i originally started scrapping!

I have used the clock as a feature to represent a time these photos were taken. I inked them first and then used some metalic rubons over the top to give it a rustic feel. I also cut a piece of Scrapmatts fence as a backing too.

My next project i did a layout featuring my girls with their dad. These photos were taken on our last holiday. The girls had a ball( so did their dad :) - also a BIG kid too) at the caravan park which we stayed at on the north coast. On this particular day the girls were playing on the giant pillow and their dad decided to join in BUT dad fell over......so the girls decided to pick on him and bounce all around him..LOL...

My last layout is of my friends little boy. Its hard having 3 girls and no boys in the family....LOL...

So my best friend sends emails all the time for me with photos of Liam for me to scrap.

Well i have been slack with my blogging but i haven't scrapped for ages....

Its called kids!!!!!!

My girls have been keeping me busy. Emma is preparing to go up to the snow on Thurs for her first snow trip with her school friends..she is so excited and she is the "Daredevil" in our family!Kayley has been busy with Ahletics carnivals...she was upstaged by her own age group from another school after being crowned Age Champion for her school. Both girls competed in a Riverina tryout Gymnastic competition in Wagga. Kayley got a 3rd place ribbon on Vault. Quiet pleasing for only 8 hrs training i say!And Bridget, well she has been enjoying her riding at RDA on "Puzzles"- she is just trying to convince her dad to buy a horse !!!Bridget also got an award at last weeks award ceremony too...

This month is going to be busy. We have 4 family members birthdays, lots more sporting events with the girls, street stalls and i am going down to a Scrapping Retreat in Vic. So looking forward to this time away- and it will be my birthday too plus i will be teaching a class.

What you are required to do for this challenge is to create a layout, card or off-the-page/altered art project using the word DREAM {or one of the derivatives of the word DREAM mentioned above}.

You have FOUR WHOLE WEEKS to complete your project & load it in our sidebar using the Inlinkz tool under the correct word DREAM.
(as there are always 2 challenges running concurrently as we reveal a new word here every fortnight).

At the end of the challenge our Design Team will vote for their top 5 layouts & the winner & 4 featured projects will be displayed here, together with links to their respective blogs.

The winner will receive a complete Tidbitz in Time kit of their choice, posted anywhere in the world, while the winner & 4 finalists will all be entitled to display a "Bird is the Word - Featured Winner" badge on their blogs, that will be supplied here when the winners are announced.

We are so excited to announce our new Sassies, but before we do we would like to just let in on a few of the changes you will be seeing on both Sassy Lil' Sketches blogs. The kids are out of the house...off to school....LOL

I can give the house a good going over now...they have been stuck inside because the weather here in tumut has been really miserable. So the mop is out , along with the vac and duster....and my music is up really loud....what more could a girl want....!!!

When Liz sent this sketch a few weeks ago, i thought - What the???
But i found some really old pp that matched perfectly (and saved me cutting out circles!) and i thought the colours were unusual but went together well...

Well i can't believe it....

I actually won second prize last month for my beachy theme layout of Kayley and Bridget.....the photo i so much adore and is one of my favourite to date....

So i had to back up this month but it was so hard to pick a layout to scrapjack cause they are ALL so good ...

BUT...

I decided to pick Mel's....

and here is my layout:

I recently took this photo of Kayley while on holidays. She takes the best mystical photos. Can you spot the Scrapmatts too?????

I also want to thank Leanne for lending me her butterfly punches. I just sat inside our Villa punching butterflies for an hour....i had lots of confetti throughout after i got up and shaked on the floor. Hubby said we could have recycled for a weddding!!! Leanne makes the most amazing cards too.....Go check them out here...

And also while at ScrapAWhile at Taree i purchased some very adorable crocheted embellishments by Rhonda which i have also included on my layout

Its still school holidays here...girls have just been inside as the weather outside has been really cold and we are all getting over our COLDS !!! Me included.....
